Well, the English Tea Room Tour Part 1 was very enjoyable and the weather fantastic, just like if it was a mid summers day.
The Cotswold and the South West generally is an English treasure. The villages and countryside are beautiful. Why bother going abroad when we have so much lovely English countryside to explore and enjoy?
I visited 25 English tea rooms when I was on tour and only 18 were open. As mentioned on the website previously, I do feel that some English tea rooms let themselves down a little. If the advertised opening times are displayed within newspaper advertisements and on the door then those times should be fully observed.
I called a tea room to double check the opening times; ‘we are open from 9.30am’ I was told. When I arrived at 9.30am, I had to wait until 10.10am before I could get in! Clearly unacceptable and tea rooms wonder why customers are few and far between!
I am organising Part 2 of the English Tea Room Tour and will head towards Central England and beyond. I will keep you posted.
Well, I have today uploaded a musical slideshow of the 18 English tea rooms that I recently visited. Sandra is double checking my reviews for errors before I finally upload these.
I am also working on the next issue of the Time for Tea magazine – the next issue will be extensive and full of tea room and related issues.
