CROFT TEA ROOM PRESENTATION
Friday 19 March 2010
Well, it is now nearly two weeks since my father’s funeral and I do miss him dearly. I have today gone down with illness and I think the past month has now caught up with me. I am so weak and thanks to Sandra for covering my classes for me.
Yesterday (Thursday 18 March 2010) was very hectic….
With a friend from Herne Bay, Mark Fuller, we both headed to the Croft Tea Room in St Mary Cray for the formal presentation of my Highly Recommended certificate. The Mayor of Bromley, Cllr. Douglas Auld and the lady Mayoress attended the event to present the certificate to Carole Wells the owner of the Croft Tea Room. The day was superb and the Mayor was extremely nice person, as was his wife and the day was made special with them both in attendance.
I was also surprised to be sitting next to Mr and Mrs Blundell; Mr John Blundell is the author of a book entitled ‘An Illustrated Guide to St Mary Cray and the Upper Cray Valley’. It made my tea, sandwich and scones much more enjoyable sitting next to them both and discussing things of mutual interest.
The Croft Tea Room is so nice and special I could sit, talk and drink tea all day…!
Mark, my friend was great. My car was in the garage due to a break down (did’nt think Jaguar cars break down) and Mark drove me to St Mary Cray and took all the pictures, which was really great. We then returned back to Herne Bay and had an evening meeting to attend which was long and tiring but nice.
Today has been tiring, a little work and much rest. Hopefully, I will get better soon and return to work and English tea rooms.
